Can I register on event day at the walk?
Yes. The Individual Walker rate is $25 the day of the event.

If I have registered, can my significant other/family/friends accompany me in the Walk?
Registration for the walk is per person so if your loved ones want to walk the route with you, they need to register as a walker. Those who do not register can cheer you on from the sidelines along the walk route.

Do I have to wear heels for the Walk?
All male walkers are encouraged to wear heels because it is visually striking and makes a powerful statement, but are not required. If you are physically unable to wear heels, we encourage you to wear any form of women’s shoe. However, your participation is what is most valuable, with or without heels

Women and children (under 13) walkers can wear any kind of comfortable shoes.

What if I do not have heels?
Male walkers can borrow a pair of our man-sized high heels—available on a first come, first served basis—or you can bring a pair of your own. Our lady walkers are encouraged to enjoy the comfort of their own walking shoes.

Can I support a participant from the sidelines?
Yes. We want the walkers to have as much encouragement as possible so unregistered attendees can watch and cheer for the walkers from the sidelines along the walk route. We would like to keep a record of all attendees so we would greatly appreciate you signing in at the registration table.

How much money am I expected to raise through pledges/donations?
We do not have any minimum or maximum expectations. We simply appreciate any and all support. If you decide to raise pledges, please use our online pledge system to request and collect pledges from your friends and family in a secure, easy to use format. You can easily email pledge requests or post requests to your social media accounts.

What should I do with the pledges/donations I collect?
Pledges and donations can be turned in at the Donations table on event day. Please note ‘Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® – Green Bay’ on all payments.

Who will benefit from the money I raise for the Walk?

Do you have any tips for walking in heels?
  • Don't wear high heels if they are too high. Most people are not made to do this ☺.
  • Wear some thin socks underneath. This will help prevent your feet from rubbing against the material of the shoes and hopefully prevent mammoth blisters.
  • Buy/borrow/rent shoes with soft inner soles. Cause the ‘thin socks’ seem to be lacking necessary padding.
  • Wear high heels only when you don't have to walk a lot or perform energetic activities. We don’t suggest cycling or running to and from the ‘Walk A Mile’ event in them - that would just be foolish.
  • Don't step toe first or place your heels and toes on the ground at the same time. Walk the same way you would with flats ……. or you could just trust us and with each step you take, place your heel on the ground first, and then the ball of your foot/toes.
